From the slopes of Etna

Olive groves in Sicily:
millennia-old roots

Olive cultivation in Sicily dates back over three thousand years: introduced by the Phoenicians and later by the Greeks, it has shaped landscapes and local traditions.

In mythological tales, such as Homer’s Odyssey, Ulysses blinds the Cyclops Polyphemus using a sharpened olive trunk, a symbol of strength and cunning.

Even today, centuries-old olive groves tell the story of the strength of volcanic land and the ancient bond between Sicily, myth, and unique flavors.

In Randazzo, culture
and land
meet

Randazzo, a medieval gem on the north-western slope of Mount Etna, unfolds among historic alleys, ancient churches, and noble palaces that recount centuries of history. The Alcantara River crosses the territory, carving evocative canyons and shaping a unique agricultural landscape where nature and culture coexist in harmony.

Here, at 700 meters above sea level, our farm cultivates olive groves and vineyards, where each plant benefits from the local microclimate and the area’s rich natural heritage.

The land that
nourishes our olive trees

Our olive groves grow where the Alcantara River connects Etna and the Nebrodi Mountains, on volcanic and alluvial soils rich in minerals and river sediments.

Chestnut, pine, and beech forests blend with willow groves and oleander shrubs, while sun, wind, and water shape the plants, creating unique microclimates thanks to altitude and temperature fluctuations.

These extraordinary natural conditions give the olives aroma, flavor, and exceptional quality—the foundation of our DOP Monte Etna oil.

The three protected areas — the Etna Park, the Nebrodi Park, and the Alcantara River Park — ensure biodiversity and environmental balance, making the oil authentic, sustainable, and rich in the character of our volcanic land.
